SOMETHING YOU MISUNDERSTOOD

WABB LAB – MEMOIRS – DAY 3

A memory doesn’t require clarity.
Confusion is allowed.

The exercise

Write about a moment in your life that you misunderstood at the time, or maybe you still don’t have a clue and are still wondering what the heck happened!

It could be:

  • someone’s intention
  • a rule that wasn’t meant to be broken
  • a look
  • your own role in what happened

Important:
Do not correct the misunderstanding and stay inside the version of you who didn’t know better.

Rules

  • Write in past tense
  • 10 minutes only
  • No hindsight commentary

Wrong memory is still memory.

Tip: If you can’t get enough of writing today, you can try writing the same story in present tense and see what happens!
