TOO LATE

WABB LAB – DAY 4 – TOO LATE

Sometimes love is recognised only after it’s gone.

The exercise

Write a scene where a character realises they have missed their moment.

Choose one situation or come up with your own:

  • the plane has just taken off
  • the wedding has already happened
  • the door has closed
  • the message was never sent
  • the other person has moved on

What to write

Focus on:

  • the exact moment of realisation
  • what the character remembers too late
  • one specific choice they didn’t make

Do not:

  • explain the whole history
  • turn it into a confession

Rules

  • Stay inside this single moment
  • No dramatic gestures

Tip!

Regret is strongest when it’s quiet.
