A LETTER TO YOUR YOUNGER SELF

Imagine writing a letter to your younger self at a crucial point in your life. It could be during a challenging time, a turning point, or a moment of great joy.

In the letter, offer advice, comfort, and encouragement. Reflect on what you’ve learned since then and how those experiences have shaped who you are today.

Be compassionate and understanding, acknowledging the struggles, and celebrating the victories. This exercise can provide a unique perspective on your life’s journey and help you appreciate your growth.

Writing letters are a great help whether you are working on your memoirs or if you are writing fiction. Imagining that you are telling your story to a specific person helps to give you a reason to write, but it will also help with your tone of voice, because we all use a different way of speaking depending on who we are talking to.

Apart from writing to your younger self you can also write letters to everyone involved in your life. Maybe you would still like explain to certain people of the past why you did what you did so long ago. You could also write love letters to all the people you loved and describe in detail what made them so special to you and describe the moments that you cherish the most.
